Elizabeth Dewberry was born and raised in Birmingham. She is the author of three novels, two of which are set in Alabama: Many Things Have Happened Since He Died and Break the Heart of Me. Her newest novel, Sacrament of Lies, is set in Louisiana, where she lived for five years. She is also a playwright whose credits include "Flesh and Blood," which premiered at the Humana Festival of New American Plays, "Four Joans and a Fire-Eater," which premiered at Swine Palace in Baton Rouge, as well as several one-acts, which have been produced at the Humana Festival, in New York, in Los Angeles, and elsewhere, and which have been published in Francis Ford Coppola's "Zoetrope," among other publications. She is the Writer-in-Residence at Florida State University. She lives near Tallahassee with her husband, author Robert Olen Butler. Bibliography: Plays |
