Anne George

Anne George passed away on March 14, 2001 while undergoing cardiac surgery. Anne will be remembered for her extraordinary writing talent, but even more so for her generosity of spirit. The Birmingham Public Library extends sympathy to Anne George's family and friends. 

Anne George was an Agatha Award-winner and a former Alabama State Poet. She was a cofounder of the Druid Press, and a regular contributor to literary and poetry publications. She was nominated for several awards, including the Pulitzer for a book of verse entitled Some of It Is True. (Author's Website)
