Scott Stantis
After Scott Stantis graduated from high school in Madison, Wisconsin, his family returned to his native Southern California, and Scott enrolled at Los Angeles Community College and California State University, Long Beach.
Shortly after being kicked out of the latter, he landed the job of editorial cartoonist for the Orange County Register. Thus began his career in earnest. Next he was hired by The Commercial Appeal in Memphis, Tennessee. Additional editorial cartoon jobs followed, first at The Arizona Republic and now at The Birmingham News. Scott's editorial cartoons are reprinted regularly in the Chicago Tribune, The New York Times and Los Angeles Times. He is a regular contributor to USA Today and Reason Magazine. Copley News Service syndicates his editorial cartoons to over 500 newspapers around the world.
Scott is also the creator of the comic strip 'The Buckets" which is seen in over 100 newspapers and is distributed by United Features Syndicate.
The Scott Stantis Show is a daily afternoon drive time radio talk show which premiered on WYDE Talk 850 January 15, 2001.
He lives in Hoover, Ala., with a mortgage, car payments, his wife Janien of nearly 20 years, two sons, Spencer and Trevor, and Niki and Dogzilla. (The latter is a regular character in Scott's comic strip). When Scott isn't creating editorial cartoons, working on his comic strip or hosting his radio show, he works on creating animation projects, writes screenplays, reads, collects flags and political memorabilia, plays with his kids, walks the dogs and ignores his yard.
